My husband and I had been struggling for 3 years with how to arrange and decorate our great room. We have two dogs and a small child, so we wanted the room to look good, but we needed it to be practical. Dawn came in, asked terrific questions about how we use the room, evaluated the style of the rest of our house, and offered amazing guidance so that the room is now beautiful and functional. Dawn was very flexible when it came to our ideas and budget. She was always prompt for meetings and highly responsive to email and voicemail. Dawn is an absolute delight. She worked incredibly quickly and is very confident in her excellent, classic designs. She designed some recessed lighting for our living room which is absolutely beautiful and helped us come up with plan for our guest bedroom. She works very quickly and gives you enough options that you feel like you have wonderful choices but not so many that you are overwhelmed. She is quick to respond and is always willing to go the extra mile. The contractors she works with are excellent and were very respectful of keeping things clean and trying to get the work done before me and my children arrived home each day. We have enjoyed working with Dawn so much, that we have decided to also redo our bathroom! I cannot say enough good things about how easy she is to work with and how her design ideas are classic yet modern.
My husband and I bought a house that needed a completely new kitchen. We had some ideas but didn’t know how to translate those ideas into a design plan. We called Dawn and she took care of everything for us–she listened to what we wanted and came up with several different design options. I engaged Dawn Kacey Design in February of 2015 to renovate a 1920 farmhouse. I have had the best experience working with Dawn. She took care of everything for me from the smallest detail to large projects. She helped me with a new kitchen install and was very knowledgeable in every aspect including finding the right kitchen company and laying out the granite counter tops and with layout of the kitchen. She also led me to the perfect lighting vendor and assisted with all the new lighting in my house. Her knowledge of making the lighting perfect was unbelievable. She also selected the perfect vendors for all my furnishing in my house. She also helped me with the complete renovation of the two bathrooms including plumbing fixtures and tile. Her ability to select all the paint colors was perfect.
I love my new home and could not done it without her. There is nothing she cant do perfectly. I can not thank her enough for her patience and compassion as well.
I loved Dawn’s endless supply of fresh ideas. In addition to a great sense of color and style she’s incredibly innovative. She literally came up with dozens of great choices that all expressed my idea of what a beach house should be. Very open. Relaxed and beautiful, but still a place you can feel comfortable putting your feet up—even if they have sand on them. Best of all the project was completely turnkey, she handled everything from finding the contractor and supervising the construction to putting the last little accessory in place. Beyond making the initial decisions, I didn’t have to do a thing—and the results were outstanding.
We met Dawn after seeing her fabulous work at a friends house. She took an entire home from bare bones, to an amazing living space. We had only a small master bath that was 25 years old. Dawn had the vision. She listened, we shopped. Dawn coordinated all contractors, made sure all supplies and vendors delivered everything on time and kept in constant contact with them to insure our master bath came out just the way we wanted it. It’s a beautiful, functional master bathroom that feels like a spa!
We have worked with Dawn on several projects and give her our highest recommendation. Projects have included a master bath renovation, a partial kitchen renovation and help with paint selection when we bought our house and every room needed to be repainted. I can’t think of one thing that has disappointed me when working with Dawn. Her taste is impeccable and I trusted her completely in all aspects of redoing our new condo. We were fortunate to find Dawn Kacey to lead an extensive renovation of our house. She has been working with us for nearly a year and managed the whole project from planning through completion. In addition to being very creative, having terrific taste, and being extremely organized, the great thing about Dawn is that she really pays close attention to how you want to live in your space. Her ideas grow out of your ideas. One of the things I like to do is settle in with a good book and relax with a good cigar from time to time. So although our plan for the condo was very open and airy, she surprised me by creating an intimate sitting area complete with comfy leather chairs and ottoman where I could unwind at the end of a hard day. I didn’t come out and ask for an an area like that. But she listened and realized it was something I’d really appreciate. And I do. It’s one of my favorites parts of my home. That kind of focus on personal attention is one of the things that makes Dawn so special.
If you have a home or office to renovate, hire this firm, immediately! We stripped a 3,500sq foot home down to structural studs and Dawn Kacey Design had the perfect solutions, from re-locating rooms to covering every surface (floors, walls, ceilings) and furnishing and decorating every space. Ms Kacey gave us the latest design trends, heard what we liked and disliked, and found the best quality and price in all products that met our tastes. She has inexhaustible energy and is phenomenally well-organized. She understands architecture and building structure such that she converses fluently with contractors and demonstrates why her design and decorating decisions are well-grounded. Her experience and expertise kept us away from rookie design mistakes and produced a home of sophisticated style and impeccable good taste.
Meanwhile, we purchased an apartment that required moderate upgrades. Dawn Kacey Design didn’t miss a beat. Ms Kacey stepped in, designed the upgrades we needed, marshaled the people and supplies we needed, and made it happen. Our bigger project (described earlier) was still moving forward, but neither project suffered at the expense of the other. Ms Kacey kept all the design balls in the air and saw the successful completion of both projects.

I have been in real estate for over 30 years, and I have never seen such spectacular staging of a home. The house needed a great deal of work before it could go to market. Dawn and her team came in and tackled the project quickly and on time. Their work resulted in a full-price cash offer in less than 3 days. I would highly recommend Dawn!
We were prepping our house for market and we needed help pulling together a polished look for a lived-in space. Dawn was really great to work with. She intuitively understood the constraints we were operating under (e.g. time, budget, saleable tastes) and she jumped right in. Her advice for heading to market was invaluable. She worked to incorporate my ideas seamlessly. She really nailed all the paint colors (even on the dreariest paint picking day) and she brought in a great painter. She was able to do most of the interfacing with the painter which helped with our time constraints. She was an integral part of the team and I don’t always think that is the case with many designers (sorry!). Would use her again and recommend to all!
After 3 weeks of working with Dawn, I listed the home for more than what the owners and I had previously discussed (because we felt it looked so nice). End result was 15 showings in the first 48 hours, 4 offers, and the sellers accepted a contract for more than the list price. I would certainly recommend her again!
Dawn was referred to me by my realtor to stage my old residence for resale. During the process Dawn went over the house with me to determine what needed to be done to prepare the house for sale, gave me referrals for contractors to do the work, coordinated the work being done and staged the house before it was shown. At all times Dawn responded quickly when I had questions and was willing to discuss how we could do the work most efficiently. Her decoration was bright, clean and modern and sold the house within two days of going on the market. Overall I was very happy with her work and would be happy to hire her in the future.
